Can I get a free TV Licence if I live in the Isle of Man, the Bailiwick of Jersey or the Bailiwick of Guernsey?


Isle of Man TV Licence

In the Isle of Man, the BBC pays for free TV Licences for those residents who are over 75 and receive Income Support. The Isle of Man Government funds TV Licences for those who are aged 75 and over who don’t receive Income Support.

If you receive Income Support for pensioners call the Isle of Man Income Support for Pensioners Team on 01624 687020 or email ISP@gov.im

If you don’t receive Income Support for pensioners call the Isle of Man State Retirement Pension Team on 01624 685176 or email statepensions@gov.im

Jersey TV Licence

In Jersey, the BBC pays for free TV Licences for those residents who are over 75 and who would be eligible under the means-tested TV Licence benefit scheme introduced by the Jersey Government in 2006. Existing customers don’t need to take any action.

Customer and Local Services (CLS) will contact TV Licensing and let them know who is eligible for a free licence. New customers should apply to Customer and Local Services via the online form on www.gov.je

Bailiwick of Guernsey (Guernsey, Alderney and Sark) TV Licence

In Guernsey and Alderney the BBC pays for free TV Licences for those residents who are over 75 and in receipt of Income Support. Guernsey Employment & Social Security will let TV Licensing know who is eligible.

If you wish to apply for Income Support, please call Employment & Social Security in Guernsey on 01481 222 508 or email incomesupport@gov.gg. If you're between pension age and 75 and getting income support you may be eligible to claim the full cost of your TV Licence by contacting Employment & Social Security.

If you don’t meet these conditions, and you need a TV Licence, you’ll need to buy one.

In Sark the BBC pays for free TV Licences for those residents who are over 75 and are receiving financial assistance from the Procureur of Sark. The Procureur will let TV Licensing know who is eligible.
