How can I buy or renew a black and white TV Licence?

A black and white licence costs £57.00.

By phone
If you need to buy or renew a black and white TV Licence you can pay by annual Direct Debit or debit or credit card by calling us on 0300 790 6130*. Please have your bank or card details to hand when you call. If you pay by Direct Debit, your bank or building society will automatically transfer the full licence fee once a year. This means you won’t ever have to worry about your licence expiring.

By post
You can post a cheque made payable to ‘TV Licensing’ for £57.00. Please write your name, address, postcode and TV Licence or reference number (if available) on the back and send it to:

Unfortunately you cannot pay for a black and white licence on our website.

If you pay by Direct Debit you can upgrade to a colour licence at any time by calling us on 0300 790 6130*. You can pay monthly, quarterly or yearly.

You can buy your new colour licence online by debit or credit card, if you have less than one month remaining on your black and white licence, or your black and white licence has expired. Please have your card details to hand.

If you wish to pay for your new colour licence by cheque or at a PayPoint, please call us on 0300 790 6130* for further information.
