Did you know, you don’t actually need a paper licence?

That’s because we already have your TV Licence details stored safely online. So you can access your licence through this website whenever you like, and it shows you’re covered.

When your licence renews, instead of sending you a paper TV Licence through the post, we can just send you an email. It’s called having a ‘paperless’ TV Licence.

How a paperless TV Licence can make things easier:

  • It’s easier to renew
We will email you when your TV Licence has been renewed, with a link to view it online.
  • It’s secure
We’ll keep your TV Licence, your bank and contact details safely online.
  • It’s easy to find
Because your TV Licence is stored online, it’s easier to find when you need it.
  • It’s easy to change
If things like your address, or your bank details change, you can just sign in online and update them.

You could change to a paperless TV Licence now.

If you pay for your TV Licence by Direct Debit, or in one yearly payment, you can change to a paperless TV Licence (licence online).

This option is not available if you pay with a TV Licensing payment card or savings card, or if you receive a free TV Licence.

How to change to a paperless TV Licence:

To stop receiving a paper TV Licence and start receiving an email when your licence renews (paperless TV Licence), you will need to:

  • Sign in to our website using your TV Licence number. You will also need to give us your last name and the postcode that’s on your TV Licence.
  • Then follow the steps you’ll be given online.
