How does the quarterly Direct Debit scheme work?

With our quarterly Direct Debit scheme you pay for your licence in instalments of around £43.62 every three months.

When you pay quarterly, you don’t pay for any of your TV licence upfront as you do with all our payment schemes. As a result, each quarterly payment includes a £1.25 charge.

When will my quarterly payments leave my account?

All payments except your first one will be taken within 3 working days of your chosen payment date which will be one of the following:

1st, 8th, 15th or 22nd

Your first payment will be made:

  • when you apply, if you chose to make an initial payment, or
  • usually around 14 days after applying
Already paying by quarterly Direct Debit?

You can check when your next payment comes out by signing in to view your licence and payment plan and going to your ‘payment details’.

You’ll need your TV Licence number. Don’t know your licence number?
